Renovations and Restoration

We understand the difference between renovation and restoration. If you are not sure, we can advise on the extent of work required, from complete building restoration to room-by-room renovation. All installations, from kitchen, bath and shower rooms, bedrooms and living areas include all the necessary plumbing and electrics, tiling, painting and decorating

Pre purchase visit and estimate of renovation  costs

Unless the property is derelict, not having been lived in for some time, and therefore in need of complete restoration, the likelihood is that some renovation work has already been started in order to facilitate the sale. In reality, this often means that the buyer is going to be paying for work not wanted and often not well done. As like as not a “DIY Nightmare”!

It is beneficial to have some idea of renovation or restoration costs before making an offer and one way of achieving this is to have a professional visit the property. We will come with you to look at the house and advise on the work needed, together with an estimate of cost. We can also arrange to meet your estate agent at the house and collect the keys – you don't even need to be there yourself if you would prefer!

There is a charge for this service - €300, refundable if you purchase and have us do your renovation work

Sourcing

Finding the right materials, furnishings and fabrics, light fittings or simple pots and pans can be difficult enough in your own back yard, let alone in rural or suburban France. This is our back yard, however, and we can find what you (and your house) need, according to your budget

Project management

You do not have to live on the job if circumstances are such that you cannot be there all the time. We will live on the job for you. We can arrange the quotes and estimates, supervise the project and see it through to completion. You will always be kept informed of progress by email as required.
